Making a series

I was wondering around the house and i got this crazy idea, and I want to share it with all of you guys so you can let me know what you think.

I was thinking, sometime in the FAAAAAAR away future, I might want to do an indipendent (but funded) series. Like a minny-series. What I mean by series is, it would be like a show, only with a beggining and an end. About 26 epsiodes in all. One episode each week. It begins serenly but ends in chaos, with all the characters getting depressed and everything comes together through all the horrible stuff that happens to everyone.

So I want to know, if this idea could acctually be a success. Would any crazy television station acctaully want to buy a indipendent series, to run on tv? Probably some small station. Tell me what you think.

well, I guess it could be a success, if you told us more about what the story is.
You havent given any sort of outline at all.
Whats the synopsis? Whats the story? Who are the characters? What happens?

I understand what sort of thing you are talking about I think. The impression I get is that you want to do a cross between star trek and a taranteno Movie. This may not be acurate but I'm guessing you want to do something a bit freaky. Based on this assumtion, I can tell you it will be very hard to make it work. If you can make it work you will have no problem getting picked up.

The other idea is if you can get permission to base it loosly around a popular movie. I have a freind who was in Crocidile Dundee 1,2 and the soon to be released 3. He got permission from paul hogan to make a series based on it called walkabout creek. As soon as he gets under way he will be able to get the series straight out to a large number of country's due to the popularity of the movie.
